Questions, answered.
How fragmented is a franchise system?
Our US pizza chain pages publish it. As of October 14, 2026, 655 franchisees run franchised Papa Johns Pizza locations: 398 run a single location, and 24 run more than 20, with 979 locations between them. Groups often hold one company per store or market, so franchise groups are fewer than companies.
Can I screen operators rather than locations?
Yes. Locations roll up to the operator, so a screen returns one row per operator, with its location count, status (independent, chain or franchise), ratings, review momentum and years in business.
How do you identify the legal owner?
We match location-level profiles to legal entities and authoritative filings, then resolve owners, officers, directors and relevant business contacts with source lineage and verification timestamps. Every match carries its confidence.
Why not a general B2B database?
A general database rarely links a storefront to the company that runs it, and franchised locations hide behind the brand. CompanyProspect starts from every location, rolls it up to its operator and legal owner, and dates every opening, closure and ownership change on that operator.
